Happy New Year to all of our members! As we have closed out another year and begin this new one I would like to thank each of our members who have been involved in keeping our club functioning. We have watched several of our annual shooting events continue to bring shooters of all ages together, so a big THANK YOU to each team captain and organizers for their tireless dedication this year. Also many thanks to those team members who continue to shoot and hone their skills.

Our club will be looking to do some much needed renovations to the indoor areas of the clubhouse this year, and would welcome any input in the planning stages of this. In addition, there are numerous things that continue to need attention and maintenance.  We encourage our members who want to get involved to come to the monthly meetings. Volunteers help to keep costs down, which will help membership dues to stay reasonable, even as prices keep going up elsewhere.

As always, I would like to thank all of our members who have joined us and participated in our monthly meetings. I also want to encourage members who haven’t come to a meeting recently to try visiting us on the second Monday of each month at 7:30pm. It is a good way to meet other members and share any concerns OR TO VOLUNTEER FOR THINGS OUR CLUB NEEDS.

I want to thank Rich and Kathy Hoover for their dedication in keeping our grass mowed in the warmer months, and the outdoors looking nice around our club and ranges. I ask that anyone with interest in helping them with that big job, to come to our monthly meetings and meet the Hoovers.  If you happen to see them out working when you are there, feel free to offer your help to them.

We continue to search for the right person or people who would like to step up to be the mentor that guides our future generation of shooters by starting our junior rifle team up once again, I’m sure Mr. Mike Ripley would help answer any questions you have.

We ask that each member continue to police our ranges to make sure they are being used by members and guests of members. Remember that anything you bring needs to leave with you or be put in the dumpster by the clubhouse.

Be sure everyone is using targets that are made specifically for shooting at and that all bullets strike the raised dirt backstop (not just the grass).  Range rules are posted at each range for the safety of the shooter, and others that may be near the range. NEVER FIRE A GUN WHEN SOMEONE IS IN FRONT OF THE FIRING LINE PLEASE.

Take care, and see you on the range,
Mike Cumberland
